Bridalveil Fall Yosemite Valley If you ever go to Yosemite you have to see the famous "Tunnel View". Here I have zoomed in on just one of the beautiful parts of the whole view!

Yosemite Fall It is often difficult to shoot very high waterfalls and give them justice in the picture. One is often tempted to put on the wide angle lens and try to get the whole waterfall in the picture but then it just looks tiny. Try then to use a telephoto lens and pick only a small portion of the entire waterfall and include something that can give scale to the waterfall, in this picture, the trees get an idea of ​​how large the waterfall is. Merced River in Yosemite Valley To be able to get all details in the dark foreground and very bright wall in the background I had to bracket my exposures into an HDR that I tone mapped in Lightroom with the 32bit-plugin from HDRsoft (Photomatix). And finally I made the B&W conversion in Lightroom.

Y O S E M I T E i Svartvitt Vi var uppe tidigt att fotografera soluppgången men till vår besvikelse var det en grå och regnig morgon. Men i stället för att ge upp så försökte jag att tänka i svartvitt. Resultatet blev flera svartvita bilder jag kan vara nöjd med. Det var ju trots allt svartvita bilder med Ansel Adams som öppnade mina ögon för Yosemite från början! Y O S E M I T E in Black and White. We were up early to photograph the sunrise but to our disappointment, it was a gray and rainy morning. But instead of giving up I swished to think in black and white. The result was several black and white images, I can be happy with. It was, after all, black and white photos with Ansel Adams, that opened my eyes for Yosemite from the beginning :-)

Dogwood over Merced River. I took this picture in Yosemite Valley. It was in the end of April 2012 and the dogwood was in full blossom. The branch with Dogwood was a long way out of the river so I needed to put on a 2times Extender to my 70-200mm zoom. I wanted the flowers to stand out in the scene. I did this by having a relatively slow shutter speed that made the rushing water soft. I also used an aperture that was sufficient for the flowers to become sharp but the water in the background slightly more blurry. Afterwards, I decided to remove all the colors but green to enhance the effect. I used: Canon 5D Mk II Canon 70-200mm Canon 2x extender 0.5 sec at f/11 and a tripod. In Lightroom, I used the "HSL" and took away all the color saturation of all colors but green. Yosemite National Park, California, USA

Tunnel View If you are only allowed to shoot one picture when you go to Yosemite, then this is the one you have to take! You just can not fail! Tunnel View is so spectacular that it leaves no one untouched. Yosemite Valley On April 26, 2012 Exactly four years ago, this day, it was our fifth day in Yosemite Valley and it was finally time to visit the highly anticipated Tunnel View. Bridalveil creek I took this picture just below Bridal Veil fall in Yosemite valley, you can sense the fall at the top right of the image. I found the environment around the creek with all its roots, trees and rocks very interesting, so I backed off a bit to get these details within the picture. The picture is merged into a panorama consisting of three horizontal images. A tilt/shift lens contributed so that the trees do not lean into the picture in an unnatural way. Resist Tenaya creek downstream from Mirror Lake. When I saw these tree trunks I could not help but think of what power they resist in the never ending running water. To try to convey the power from the running water I used a one third of a second exposure to get the movement in the water and still keep some details. Yosemite National Park, California, USA

I celebrate this by posting one picture a day from the exact day from that trip. So I took this picture on the 27 april 2012 and the spring was seriously arriving.
